Job Description
Responsible for the supervision of a small to medium sized crew of skilled and unskilled workers assigned to individual projects. Work is performed under general direction of a construction superior (such as a Senior Superintendent, Project Manager or Field Training Supervisor) and is subject to periodic review by superiors for results obtained, changes in work methods, and adherence to company policies.

The Superintendent provides direction, leadership, supports and holds all field crew responsible and accountable for meeting their responsibilities, goals, commitments and provides the necessary information and leadership in this regard. Superintendents handle all aspects related to personnel management on site.  They make decisions pertaining to production on a daily basis.  They may work side by side with carpenters, laborers and subs, so they must have the capability to manually complete any activity. 

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for, although not limited to: scheduling, workforce planning, coordinating, supervising, assisting in cost control and ensuring the safety, consistent and fair application of all policies and procedures, proper apprentice training and productivity of all crews at the worksite.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 7 or more years of experience as a qualified and competent carpenter with at least 1-2 years in a lead or foreman role managing small projects who is knowledgeable in all other construction trades.
